Prezi
As with any tool, Prezi can be a force for good in the quest for improved student learning . . . Maria Andersen is an excellent example of the good use of Prezi. Take a look at this one, which is quite popular:
OR Prezi can be a force for evil . . . here is a good idea gone slightly awry (in our opinion, anyway). Clearly an end-of-semester project - the type that we'd like you to think about for your students:
ACTIVITY #1: Click through both of these presentations on your own for a few minutes, and think about what you like and what you dislike about each one. Then get together with another workshop participant and create a master list of your likes and dislikes, so that we can come up with a list of "Prezi Best Practices!"
Participant ideas for best practices with Prezi: Keep it simple, movement to a minimum, sizing of objects with respect to movement and path, gentle movements, watch the spinning, use frames to control movement.

ACTIVITY #2: This is my prezi - can you see the signs that I'm still a Prezi novice? What could I be doing better?
PARTICIPANT SUGGESTIONS for the novice Prezi user:
ACTIVITY #3: Now that we've discussed the potential of Prezi, discuss with your partner(s) how you/your students could use Prezi to improve learning.

Would this work to deliver content?
Would this work as a capstone tool, assessing learning from the semester?
