Screencasting
What is a screencast? A screencast is a video recording of whatever is taking place on your computer. Screencasts are extremely use for for guiding students through websites, video tutorials, or quick explanations that would take too long by email. There are many screencasting tools, but we'd like to introduce you to two of the easiest: Jing and ScreenJelly.
Here's a great example:
One of our workshop participants shared this Screenjelly screencast that she created for her Math students, demonstrating how to use the graphing calculator. It's only three minutes, but she manages to include a lot of information, humor, and reassurances for her students.
In a Jing vs. ScreenJelly Throwdown, it's really up to you to decide the winner:

Now it's your turn . . .
Create a video tutorial of your own, using ScreenJelly! When your video is done, be sure to post it to your Weebly webpage. Include an explanation of how you could incorporate this tool into your class(es) - whether it's you creating the video or your students, how can it add to teaching and learning?
