Create a Video? Are you crazy?
No; like many other technologies out there on the web, there are free and easy tools for video creation, as well. Today you're going to learn to use Animoto, but take a look at Alan Levine's "50 Web 2.0 Ways to Tell a Story" first - you'll be amazed to see all the different tools you could use to tell the same story.

HOW TO TELL YOUR STORY WITH ANIMOTO:
Here's a sample of an Animoto video that I created just by uploading images from our workshops that we've offered. The free version of Animoto only allows 30 seconds (for $3, you can bypass the time limit on one video; for $30, you can have a year of unlimited-length videos), but still, you can convey a lot of information in 30 seconds:
Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.
Now it's your turn . . .
Create an Animoto video of your own, using the images that you have found and edited today. When your video is ready, be sure to post it on your Weebly webpage! Don't forget to add an explanation of how you might use Animoto for your class(es) - whether that means you will create the videos, or your students will create the videos, and for what purpose.
Resources for learning to use Animoto:
Be sure to apply for your EDUCATOR'S account!!
If you go to http://www.animoto.com/education, you can get the free educator's account - this allows you to create unlimited-length videos, instead of the 30-second limit that is on the free basic account. The educator's version also provides you with codes for student accounts, so that your students can create projects without the 30-second limit as well (be sure to re-apply for the educator's account at least one week prior to each semester).
